A sizing email that gets more than a height-chart answer
“I am 178 cm; which size?” is easy to answer quickly and hard to answer well. Give the seller the position you want to reproduce or the fit target you have established. Ask it to show the actual setup behind the suggested size.

Prepare measurements you can explain
Record reference-bike model/size and how saddle and hand positions were measured. Include known crank length, saddle, bar and stem dimensions. If the reference position is uncomfortable, say so; reproducing it exactly may not be the goal. A fitter can help define a target before a remote purchase.
The BikeFit overview distinguishes selecting a frame size from adjusting the rider’s contact points. A height range can help shortlist a frame; it does not describe the whole position.
Send this with the geometry chart
“I am considering [model/revision]. My reference bike and measurements are attached, with the method and units. The position I want to keep/change is [detail]. Please recommend a size and show the required seatpost, stem/bar and spacer arrangement. Confirm that it meets the frame/fork/cockpit limits, required seatpost insertion and saddle-rail range. Please identify anything the available chart cannot resolve.”
Read the reply as a build proposal
For a GRARO or LCR018-D, check the reply against the exact current geometry and supplied cockpit options. A recommended size without the needed component arrangement leaves the fit question partly unanswered. Do not average conflicting charts or assume a longer stem repairs every size mismatch.
The LCR018-D manufacturer chart itself treats body-height ranges as a reference that varies with body proportions. Consider a hypothetical reply: “Size 52, standard cockpit.” It gives a size label but leaves the stem length, bar dimensions, spacers and achievable contact points unspecified. Ask for those details against your reference measurements; until they are resolved, the reply is not a complete build proposal.
Keep the written proposal and have your fitter/assembler review unresolved points before ordering. A seller recommendation is useful evidence, not a guarantee of comfort for your body. The strongest answer is one you can build within the limits and assess against a clear position target.
Prepare the measurements with the remote-fit reference sheet, then use the frame-sizing worksheet to compare the proposed setup. Keep an unanswered item as a question instead of filling it with an assumption.
