Buying a bike from China: price, shipping and support
Use a yuan price to shortlist a bike, then compare a written delivered quote with your local alternative. The exact build, shipping, destination charges and warranty route can change the result. A simple worksheet makes those costs visible before the excitement of a low sticker price takes over.
What does the yuan price actually buy?
A marketplace observation, a coupon, an official list price and a currency conversion answer different questions. Keep the date and price basis with the number. The three examples below show why a neat column of yuan amounts is not yet a shopping comparison.

Make sure the quote and photo describe the same bike
Send the seller the model generation, size, color and exact component package you are comparing. Ask whether the quote is for a bare frame, a frame package, a partially assembled bike or a complete build. Regional versions and similarly named configurations must not silently share one price or weight.

Give the warranty a return address
Ask who accepts a warranty claim in your destination, which documents are required, and who pays transport or labor for a claim. Confirm how returns work before paying and whether a replacement hanger, seatpost, cockpit or other model-specific part can be shipped separately.
Do not interpret a domestic warranty statement as a promise that an overseas distributor or workshop will handle the product. Get the applicable policy for the exact seller, product and destination.
Is the saving still worthwhile?
