Seat angle and saddle setback: one degree moves the seat line about 13 mm
Seat-tube angle sets where the seat tube puts the saddle clamp before the post and rails adjust it. With the saddle 700 mm above the bottom bracket, each degree moves that line about 13 mm, so a size change or a brand change can use up a setback post's whole adjustment. Start from the position you already ride, then check that the new frame's post and rails can reach it.

What a degree is worth on real charts
The seat-tube line sits height ÷ tan(seat angle) behind the bottom bracket. At 700 mm of vertical height, a saddle height of about 728 mm along a 74° seat tube, 74° puts it 200.7 mm back and 73° 214.0 mm: 13.3 mm for one degree. The rate is about 12 mm per degree at 650 mm and 14 mm at 750 mm.
Neighbouring sizes rarely differ by a whole degree, but some do. INCOLOR’s Speedster SR goes from 74.5° at size 51 to 74° at 54 and 73.75° at 56, shifts of 3 to 7 mm. Elves’s chart for the Falath Pro Disc jumps from 75° at size 54 to 73.5° at 56: about 20 mm at 700 mm, more than the 15 mm between a zero-offset and a 15 mm-offset post. Brands differ as much: three frames labelled 54 or 540 sit 17 mm apart.

The post and rails close the gap
The frame angle only places the clamp line; the post’s offset and the saddle’s rail position finish the job. LightCarbon’s LCR018-D page, rechecked October 22, 2026, offers a zero- or 15 mm-offset post and a clamp for 7×7 mm alloy and 7×9 mm carbon rails; seatpost offset and saddle rails covers confirming the option on the order. A nominal 15 mm offset does not move every saddle reference point exactly 15 mm, and some charts print an effective rather than an actual angle, so take exact figures from the maker’s drawing.
On the INCOLOR Speedster SR, confirm the supplied post and its alternatives before ordering. A frame 1° steeper than your current one needs about 13 mm more setback from post and rails to keep the saddle where it was.

Start from the saddle position you ride
Use the saddle-position record from your old bike as the target and subtract the seat-line difference: from a 73.5° frame to a 75° one, the line moves about 20 mm forward at 700 mm, and the post and rails must supply those 20 mm inside their marked range. If they cannot, change the size or the post before choosing paint.
Do not slide the saddle outside its clamp markings to fix cockpit reach; that changes the setback you just matched. Resolve the front end separately with stem length with an integrated handlebar.
