Ordering a VeloBuild frame: confirmation, paint and the parts you will need
A VeloBuild VB-R-268 order has several independent choices hiding behind one frame name. Make the final order confirmation your build sheet: frame, paint, cockpit and supplied hardware.

Use the official order and confirmation route
VeloBuild’s order instructions describe a website order followed by confirmation. If the VB-R-268 options do not capture what you need, use the official contact page and attach the answer to the order number.
Before production, compare checkout, invoice and confirmation across the fields below. Ask the seller to resolve a mismatch while it is still text. The model photo identifies a frame, not the selected components in your box.
Consider a hypothetical mismatch: checkout says “integrated 400/100,” but the confirmation lists a 400 mm separate bar and a 100 mm stem. The numbers match, yet the cockpit type and required interface pieces do not. The product page offers different cockpit options. Resolve the type, included spacers and hardware with the seller and assembler before treating the order as agreed; matching dimensions alone is not compatibility approval.

Paint time and courier time are different clocks
The February 2025 discussion begins with a painted VR-177 order awaiting dispatch; a reply describes two VB-R-268 frames with different paint. These dated orders are not a lead-time average for your selected configuration. Ask separately when painting should finish and when the carrier should accept the parcel.
Save the approved artwork and the last date for changes. VeloBuild’s tracking instructions say it supplies a tracking number when the order is marked shipped. A number alone does not establish carrier acceptance or delivery; check those later milestones with the carrier.
Audit the small parts before the box leaves
Have the seller list the supplied headset parts, axles, hanger, seatpost hardware and cockpit pieces. Send that list to your assembler along with the current manual. Identify any parts that must be sourced separately before ordering the rest of the build.
For an integrated front end, settle bar width and stem length from a fit plan, then confirm the approved adjustment range. Do not assume that a standard-looking spacer or bearing cover from another frame will work.
Ask how a spare hanger and proprietary fastener set can be ordered later. This is not an invitation to replace manufacturer-specified hardware with a near match; it is a chance to make the maintenance plan less dependent on a future email search.
Use the integrated-cockpit checklist to identify the exact frame interface and adjustment questions.
Read the return conditions before choosing custom paint
Review the maintenance and warranty page, then ask which terms apply to your frame and any custom finish. Warranty claims, unused returns and buyer-requested changes are different cases.
Confirm return authorization, shipping responsibility and the effect of assembly or alteration on a return. If something looks damaged or does not match the agreed order, document it and contact the seller before modifying it.
Finish with an itemized delivered total and a build budget that includes the parts and labor outside the frame package. VeloBuild can be a hands-on project; make sure that is the project you want, rather than one discovered halfway through assembly.
