How product photos are sourced, labelled and replaced when unavailable.
Image use
Manufacturer images are preferred. Selected XHS, Taobao, and Xianyu images may be shown when they identify an exact bicycle or expose useful geometry, size, clearance, weight, package, compatibility, or aero information. They normally stay remote; a small optimized WebP derivative may be stored with the site when a stable remote display is unavailable. Copyright remains with the original owner and the source stays visibly linked.
Source and privacy
Every community or marketplace image needs an identity-safe canonical source URL, owner or seller credit, exact-model mapping, alt text, content hashes, and a completed privacy review. Share, referral, invite, tracking, session, and account parameters are removed. Images are stripped of metadata and visible personal identifiers before hosting.
Accuracy
An image can show the exact configuration, the exact frame platform, the same platform with different components, another color, or another regional build. When the image is not exact, the catalog shows an information marker.
Failures and corrections
Broken external images are hidden instead of being replaced by a generic bicycle drawing. Use GitHub issues to report a broken link, attribution concern, inaccurate image, removal request, or a better replacement. Do not publish private contact details in an issue.
